Thank you for taking a stand to end violence against Indigenous women and girls.

Thank You!

Dear Tracy,
Thank you for taking a stand to end violence against Indigenous women and girls. The extreme violence against, and murders and disappearances of Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people in Canada are a national tragedy requiring national action. By adding your voice today you have committed to being part of the solution to this human rights crisis.

Throughout the public inquiry, those impacted by the violence will be sharing their stories. You have committed to listen to them, even when their stories are difficult to hear.

As public attention focuses on the inquiry, people may articulate stereotypes of Indigenous peoples. Whether it’s in a media article, social media post, or dinner time conversation, you have committed to dispelling myths, not reinforcing harmful stereotypes, and to respectfully engaging in dialogue.

Action is needed now, during, and post-inquiry to end the violence. You have taken a stand to hold every level of government and law enforcement accountable to doing their utmost to stop the violence once and for all.

Throughout the inquiry process these organizations and others will be listening, providing commentary and analysis, and calling on you to take action as needed.
