Success! Executions stopped in The Gambia

I got this from Amnesty International:

38 Death Row Inmates Still Alive in The Gambia!

Success! 38 death row inmates are still alive in The Gambia!
You took action on this case, and showed that when you speak out against tyrants, lives can be saved. Thanks to international pressure - including pressure from Amnesty members like you - President Yahya Jammeh has backed down from his threat of executing the remaining prisoners on The Gambia’s death row. You probably remember that he'd promised to kill them all by mid-September.
He’s now declared a moratorium on executions, conditional on a declining crime rate in The Gambia. While the reprieve is welcome, this conditional moratorium is simply not good enough.
His actions show that he listens when you speak out – let’s continue to demand that he makes the moratorium permanent, with a view to abolishing the death penalty in law.
Please encourage your family and friends to sign the petition to make the moratorium permanent by sharing this link.
Thank you so much for taking action on this case. You have made a true difference to 38 lives.
Sincerely,

Alex Neve
Secretary General
Amnesty International Canada
