Take Action With Amnesty This Summer

I got this from Amnesty International:

Dear Tracy,

The end of June really heats up as activists from around the region descend on DC for a week of fun and action! Some of our events this month include a march against torture and a cross country advocacy event against the death penalty. Mark your calendars, and come help us raise the call for human rights!

On June 24th please join us in the fight against torture, Guantanamo and indefinite detention. We are organizing a march in orange jumpsuits from the US Capitol to the White House to show elected officials that we the people demand an end to human rights abuses in our names.
Join us and learn more on our website.

Or maybe when you think summer, you think of parties- and if that's the case we have just the thing for you. On Saturday, June 23rd join Northern Virginia Amnesty International Groups 528, 530, and 532 for our annual fundraiser and celebration of human rights! We'll spend the day on the farm with great food, music, and fun, including the 13th annual Judy Patterson Memorial Croquet Tournament to commemorate a great leader for human rights from our community.

And don't forget about Tuesday, June 26th when you can join us in Takoma Park, MD for "From Violence to Healing, Ending the Death Penalty in Maryland." The Journey of Hope "storytellers" are real people who know first hand the aftermath of the insanity and horror of murder.

We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Office Team
