Dear Tracy,

Jailed lawyer and human rights defender Nasrin Sotoudeh has been released from prison in Iran and re-united with her husband and two children!

Thank you for everything you've done as an Amnesty International supporter to help bring about this wonderful news.

Your support, your letters, your signature on our petitions -- and the many ways you engage in personal activism -- have all played a part in making Nasrin's unjust detainment widely known around the world.

Together, we made sure that the government of Iran knew the world was watching.

But you and I know that this heartwarming news is part of a bigger human rights story in Iran, where Nasrin's courageous work for women led to her detainment three years ago for "spreading propoganda against the system" and "acting against national security".

When arrested, she was a prominent lawyer, respected for her outspoken defense of women's rights in Iran. Please help that work continue. Your support today can help Amnesty International campaign to  ensure that her ban on practicing law is reversed, her travel ban is revoked, and her prison sentence is overturned.

Your financial support will help us defend Nasrin's right to speak out for women's rights in Iran and campaign for the release of all prisoners of conscience who are detained solely for practicing their human rights.

Please help us achieve more success like this and support our ongoing work for human rights defenders. Donate now.
