Zeddy at Camp Trillium/ Ariana Grande/ what is the difference?

Apr. 15 Zeddy at Camp Trillium: I was thinking about: "What charity won Zeddy, the Zellers mascot?"  Here's the story, Camp Trillium won him:

http://www.newswire.ca/en/story/1072675/zellers-iconic-mascot-zeddy-finds-new-home-with-camp-trillium

"The adoption effort is just one part of Zellers' last community outreach. The retailer is also donating $27,800 in HBC gift cards and Zeddy plush toys to more than 20 Canadian not-for-profit organizations this holiday season to support their local charitable initiatives."

"Zeddy will take on a new name, Barry and enjoy fun-filled days of swimming, kayaking, arts and crafts, and many other camp activities.  Zeddy's job will be to help these children undergoing cancer treatment to have fun, feel special and get away from the everyday."

I remember that I voted one of the 3 charities Autism Ontario, Camp Trillium, and Cystic Fibrosis Canada to get Zeddy.  I can't remember who I voted for.  I even looked for it on my blog and found this post:

http://badcb.blogspot.ca/2012/12/shopping-man-cans-anti-muslim-film.html

However, it doesn't mention who I voted for.  If I remember correctly, it was probably Autism Ontario.  Well Camp Trillium is a good charity.

Come to think of it, the camp probably won due to those Zeddy commercials that show Zeddy alone in the woods.  The camp is associated with the woods.

Comedy comparisons:

Running away scared: I was going to add that Zeddy commercial where he's in the woods.  He is running away scared from a bee and falls down.  lol.

Apr. 18: Here's another one from The Simpsons.  Homer finds out Marge is pregnant with Maggie.

Homer pulls out his hair, screams and runs up the stairs to his room.

There are flashbacks.

Cut to Marge and Homer sitting on the couch.
Homer: What?  You're pregnant?!
Homer pulls out his hair, screams and runs up the stairs to his room.

Cut to Marge and Homer sitting on the couch.  2 yr old Bart is there.
Homer: What?  You're pregnant again?!
Homer pulls out his hair, screams and runs up the stairs to his room.

Angry and funny: This was done on The Simpsons where Krusty is ranting to these reporters.

Krusty: Do you know what comedy is these days?  Some big chin guy reading typos from the Pelukiville Post.  Yeah, well here's a headline for you: Nobody cares!
The audience laughs.
Jay Leno: But Krusty, I washed your hair!

Or the other episode, where the Springfield Elementary staff gives a talent show.  Groundskeeper Willy does a stand-up comedy routine.  He tells a few jokes and nobody laughs.  He then gets angry.

Willy: Oh is that it?  You don't think Willy is funny, unless he's on his hands and knees cleaning up your kids' puke?!
The audience laughs.
Willy: Oh thank you, you've been a great audience everybody.

In my case, it's like the Dateline question I asked: "What are you guys going to talk about?  Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers?"  I am genuinely angry, and I'm sure there are people who read that question will laugh.

Plain truth: I know there are some things I say, I'm not trying to be funny, I just tell the plain truth and people will laugh.  How about this one:

"Hard Candy is a good movie.  If you want to watch one torture-porn movie this year, you should watch Hard Candy, because it's got way more depth than those Saw movies."

I stand by that opinion.

Apr. 28 Shopping: I don't go shopping very often.  A few weeks ago I did.  It was before I had to go to work, so I decided to have a little fun.  I went to the Wee Book Inn in downtown.  They have a new cat.  It's like white and orange.  I checked Oodle Noodle that's close by.  It smells really good with all the deep fry oil in the air.  It seems kind of expensive like $7 and up for a meal.  I then checked out Phat Noodle across the street, but it seemed it closed down.

I went to Audrey's bookstore and said hi to one of my friends who works there.  I noticed that the new restaurant Arabia will be opening soon to take over the old restaurant that used to be there called Sultan Express.

I checked out Enterprise Square.  I thought the Rutherford Corner book store would still be open, but it closed down.  I read in the Edmonton Journal business section that they were closing it down.  I then checked out the art show in the building.  The theme was degradation.  Really good and thought-provoking art.

I went to the Carbon store.  It sold keyboard keys earrings.  I think I might have see that when I was at NAIT's book store.

Ariana Grande: I was listening to the radio and I heard this song called "The Way" by Ariana Grande feat. Mac Miller.  It's a light and happy song that you can sing and dance to.  It's a summer song because it's so fun.  I have heard of her name before, but I couldn't remember where.  I think it was on Youtube when I'm looking for a job and listening to music.

She's actually an actress from the Disney show Victorious.  She has a good voice, that I was impressed by.  I'm reading these Youtube comments and people are comparing her to Mariah Carey.  Check out the song:

May 4 Crazy week: It's been a crazy week.  I was working at the call centre, and this program didn't work so we had to do something differently.  On Wed. I got really sick and didn't go to work.  On Thurs. I got better because I rested and took medicine the day before.  I worked for a few hours at the call centre.  On Fri. I worked at the call centre.

Today is Sat. and I worked at the restaurant though I'm still kind of getting over a cold.  It was crazy today, because there are supposed to be 5 bussers and there were only 2 including me.  Then at 9am a busser came because she overslept.  Then another busser showed up because she also overslept.  That's an interesting coincidence.

The 5th busser didn't show up.  I would say all the workers here are good and reliable.

What is the difference?:

Cold and flu: It's very rare that I get a cold.  The last time I got really sick was in Nov. 2010.  In 2012, I had a little bit of a cold, but I kept going to work.  I thought: "What is the difference between a cold and a flu?"

According to CBC news, a cold comes on gradually and you can be sick for 3 or 4 days.  It can last 10 days to 2 weeks.

As for a flu, it's worse.  It can come on suddenly and it hits you hard.  You can be sick for 3-5 days, and it will last 2- 3 weeks.

May 9 Shampoo and conditioner: I Google this and shampoo is to wash your hair.  Conditioner is used to make your hair more "smooth, soft, and shiny."  Check it out here:

I didn't know that until I looked it up.  I don't pay attention to hair commercials because it's all the same.  Have a famous celebrity there talking about it, or a model.  Show the hair flipping and how shiny it is in the light.  I don't read teen magazines for the hair and makeup tips.  I always skip it and read it for the interesting stories like "My mom went to jail."

Canada AM: I was looking up about Zeddy and they showed the video on Canada AM.  The three news reporters are sitting at a table laughing when they're watching it.  It made this Zeddy commercial a little funnier.
