A devastating 7.9 earthquake has struck central Nepal, near the capital city of Kathmandu. This is the worst earthquake the region has seen in more than 80 years.

This earthquake has been deadly, toppling buildings and destroying infrastructure. We already know that more 1,400 people have been killed and many more are missing. Children account for nearly half of Nepal’s population. I know that you share our concern about what this disaster means for children and their families in the affected region.
