8 yr old boy saves family/ Shine the Light

Feb. 8:

8 yr old boy saves family: I found this on Yahoo news.  Tyler Doohan is 8 yrs old:

According to the Democrat & Chronicle, citing investigators, Tyler took it upon himself to wake his sleeping relatives once he detected the fire at around 4:45 a.m. on Monday. Two of the people Tyler helped save were children, ages 4 and 6.  Tyler's body was found near the bed of his deceased uncle.

"The kid has more guts than I know of," Joseph Breyette, Tyler's uncle, told WHEC-TV. “I mean, to run back in there and go through what he went through to try to save his uncle — what can you say for the kid? He was a great kid.”

My opinion: The comments are mainly how sad it is.  It’s sad, and at least he can live through his family.

Autism: I found this through Facebook.  It’s a blog post where Jenny McCarthy says her son doesn’t have autism, he has another neurological disorder.

The comments below either say she should apologize to the public for being wrong and others are saying that it’s still good that McCarthy was out there talking about autism.  It brought on a lot of awareness and people know what it is.

My opinion: I remember years ago, McCarthy was on 20/20 and she told about how she took her kid to the doctor.

McCarthy: The doctor then told me: “I’m sorry, but your kid has autism.”
Host: Then what?
McCarthy: Then I had to pack because I was going to fly and go on Good Morning America.

She goes on to talk about how sad she felt about the diagnosis.

Growing up unvaccinated: I also found this article about a woman named Amy Parker and she grew up unvaccinated.  Remember how McCarthy has mentioned that her son has autism and it may have been caused because of vaccines?

She’s not the only one who thought that.  I was watching Oprah years ago, maybe 2006.  There was an episode about parents raising kids with autism and a mother said that vaccines could have possibly caused it.

Now onto the article: Parker talks about how she often got sick even though she ate and lived in a healthy way.  As for her 2 kids who were vaccinated, they rarely ever got sick.

Infanticide: I also found this on Facebook.  I think Maygen put it up.

“Today Natural News denounces Melissa Harris-Perry, the latest talking head “death worshipper” to publicly imply that she supports the murder of living, breathing newborn children. According to Harris-Perry, life begins when the parents feel like life begins. And together with some twisted new “ethics” arguments from the radical left, this can include months or years after a child is born.”

“That’s why I need to premise this article with a disclaimer: This article is not about abortion. It’s about the murder of children after they are born. Because once a child is born alive, terminating that life is no longer a “choice” … it’s murder by every legal and moral standard. Because while abortion friends and foes can argue about when life begins in the womb, no one disagrees that a child born alive is, well, ALIVE… do they?”

My opinion: I thought that was disturbing.  I had to go on the internet to see if it’s a real article.  Then I found this:

I then clicked on Facebook comments and lots are saying that: “This is murder.  Plain and simple.”

Justin Bieber: I have to write about him.  When I saw on Yahoo news that he got arrested, I wasn’t really surprised.  There have been lots of things about him in the news already, and it wasn’t always good.

I hope this is a wake up call for him, and that drinking and driving is terrible.  Does anyone remember in Dec. 2013, he visit the Typhoon victims?  He needs to do more charity work.

Octomom: Nadya Suleman is charged with welfare fraud because she didn’t report $30,000 income while receiving public assistance.

This is how she made money: “…did porn films, boxed D-list celebrities, even endorsed birth control for dogs after giving birth in 2009 to eight babies after she received in vitro fertility treatments.”

I was going through my blog and it turns out I did write about her quite a few times like when she was on Oprah and Suze Orman helped her with her finances.

Feb. 12 Zoo giraffe killed: I was reading in the Metro on Feb. 10, 2014 about a zoo giraffe killed because his genes weren’t good enough.  There was an online petition of 20,000 signatures to prevent a healthy 2 yr old giraffe from being killed.  There were a lot of giraffes with similar genes in the breeding program.

Copenhagen Zoo turned down offers from other zoos and $680,000 from an individual to save the life of the giraffe.  I really thought that other zoos could have taken it in.  Instead the giraffe was killed and fed to the lions.

Baby elephant cries: I had saved this link back in Aug. 2013.

Horrified zookeepers were forced to intervene after a female elephant attempted to stamp her calf to death shortly after he was born.

The female elephant had stepped on baby Zhuangzhuang almost immediately after giving birth at a Chinese zoo on August 30.

But vets initially thought it was an accident. They removed the calf to treat his injuries and returned him to his mother two hours later - but she started to stamp on him again.

Keepers drove her off and took the little elephant away.”

If you look at the pictures, the baby elephant is crying.

Shine the Light: I discovered London’s Abused Woman’s Centre in Canada when I was reading the Metro.  Here’s their website:

The goals of the campaign are to raise awareness of men’s violence against women by turning cities, regions and counties purple for the month of November; to stand in solidarity with abused women and support them in understanding that any shame and/or blame they may feel does not belong to them but to the perpetrators of their abuse; and to raise the profile of the community agencies that can provide abused women with help as they attempt to live their lives free from violence and abuse.

Purple is a symbol of courage, survival and honour, and has come to symbolize the fight to end woman abuse. We invite local businesses, schools, places of worship, apartments and homes to go purple! Decorate with purple lights, balloons, streamers or any other purple supplies.”
