Mar. 19, 2020: I am posting this work from home blog post because I'm sure a lot of people are working at home or just at home because they aren't allowed to work because of the COVID- 19.

Overview

Researches, writes, and edits clinical and regulatory documents by applying functional expertise and clinical drug development knowledge. Writes clear and concise documents, including study reports, protocols, investigator brochures, summary documents, and other scientific documents. Exhibits excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates technical expertise and background in the use of medical writing templates and software (eg, PleaseReview, Documentum-based platforms, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a lead medical writer on complex programs and numerous individual studies.
  • Represents the medical writing function on project teams, contributing to scientific content, drafting document specifications, and coordinating regulatory submissions and data analysis.
  • Manages all aspects of the medical writing function.
  • Writes and reviews clinical study reports, protocols, and other clinical/regulatory documents.
  • Contributes to clinical protocol development for first-in-human oncology studies.
  • Drive the document preparation process, receive and review primary statistical output, draft and distribute documents for review, and incorporate/resolve comments with all reviewers.
  • Provides scientific and medical writing consultancy to project teams, as requested.

Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific/clinical/regulatory field preferred
    • At least 5 years of experience in a lead oncology medical writing role in the pharmaceutical/CRO industry. *Note: Early development oncology experience is preferred.
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Ability to understand and interpret clinical and scientific data; ability to present results in an understandable manner to a variety of audiences.
    • Knowledge of current requirements and guidelines applicable to submission documents
    • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
    • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
    • Ability to prioritize multiple projects

      Responsibilities:

      • Make updates and adjustments to existing content or create new content in the PaySource publication to provide payroll compliance information to enable subscribers to administer their payroll department or tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
      • Ensure the materials and resources in PaySource are current, user friendly and easily accessed and understood.
      • Untangle the intricacies of employment standards, taxable benefits; federal and provincial income tax, Employment Insurance/Quebec Parental Insurance Plan, CPP/QPP, year end, T4s, T4As, and RL-1s, among others – to successfully help employers and payers comply with all requirements.
      • Conduct research through payroll-related legislation, regulations, policies, government contacts and internet when necessary.
      • Suggest improvements, verify facts and references and perform other accuracy tasks.
      • Create and provide content for user documentation related to PaySource (newsletter, guides, quick references, whitepapers etc.)
      • Assist with facilitation of training materials (seminars, conferences etc.)

      Requirements
      • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification is an asset

      • Ability to interpret and explain legislation, regulations and policies
