Call on Saudi Arabian authorities to reverse this outrageous sentence

50 lashes tomorrow!

Dear friends,

Saudi Arabia is set to commence the public flogging of Raif Bedawi.

Will you take action right away to stop this cruel and inhumane act?

Raif's wife and 3 children are in Montreal while he serves a 10 year sentence in Bremin Prison in Saudi Arabia. His "crime": criticizing religious figures in his blog.

The Saudi authorities plan to issue his punishment 50 lashes at a time, every Friday, over the course of the next 20 weeks.

Amnesty International considers the sentence against Raif to be a gross violation of human rights and is calling for his immediate and unconditional release.

Thank you for sharing our vision for a world where individuals are protected from human rights violations, and for speaking up to defend those at risk. By speaking up now, you can help us stop this cruel flogging, scheduled to begin tomorrow, following public prayers in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
