2012 TV production company job search: I rebooted my TV production company job search. I attended an interview in 2008, and didn't get hired. I decided I will work a regular job at a restaurant in the day and pitch my script to TV production companies in the evenings. I got 2 interviews in 2 months in 2012. I called my friend Angela about this:
Angela: How come you didn't do this sooner?
Tracy: I did. I attended a job interview at a TV production company back in 2008, after I graduated from Professional Writing. I wrote about it on my blog.
It's okay that she and my friends, family, or blog readers will probably not remember that I attended a job interview at a TV production company from 5 yrs ago.
In Dec. 2014, I was sick for 2 days and decided to look for the blog post about that 2008 interview and I couldn't find it. I edited spelling, punctuation, and grammar. In Dec. 2020, I was saving and backing up my blog and I found it:
Dynacor Media:
In May 2008:
job/ drive/ shopping
Tracy's blog: job/ drive/ shopping (badcb.blogspot.com)
This morning I got up at 10am. Since I got a email from Dynacor, I wanted to get his name so I could call them back. I then called and we will have an interview on Fri. He said I could be a production assistant and not only an office assistant. My dream of working at TV production company could be coming true. I also got a email from Media Masters, but he said that they are a production company. They don't produce the film like pay the writer for the script. They only film it. He told me to get an investor and money for the project before I could call them and start filming.

Tracy's blog: job/ charity/ 27 Dresses (badcb.blogspot.com)
May 9: I went to the Dynacor job interview. It was good. They asked that I email my The Fighter script to them and I did. What was interesting was that one of them kind of recognized me because my name sounded familiar. I told her I called her back in 2004 when I was trying to get into Nait's tv program. They don't really have time to train a production assistant, but they will keep my resume on file. She gave me some tips and production companies like Anaid, Reel girls and Panacea Productions. Call Citytv and ask who is in charge of programming.

Sept. 22, 2022 My opinion: I am angry and annoyed that Angela thought that I was stupid and that I didn't try to get a TV production company job right after I graduated out of Professional Writing in college.
There I said it. I need to get my anger out.

This is from a Feb. 2019 blog post "Staying connected"/ "Benefits with friends":
Jan. 29, 2019 Gr. 7 eating disorder flashback: I wrote about this before, but I will write about it again.
It was at lunchtime.
Ashley goes to throw out something. Angela then tells me, Leslie, Heidi, and Spyrola.
Angela: Whenever she thinks she ate too much, she throws it up so she won't get fat.
We all say "That's bad."
Ashley comes back.
Angela: I just told them that after you think you ate too much, you throw it up so you won't get fat, and all 4 of them say that's bad.
Ashley: I've only done it like 5 times.
I thought Ashley was going to yell at Angela: "Why did you tell them that? This is personal and private."
You guys are either:
"That's good that Angela told 4 peers that. She wants to help Ashley and show her that 4 peers thinks this action is bad, so stop doing it."
"That's bad that Angela told 4 peers that personal and private information. I won't be telling Angela anything personal and private."
"Angela should be telling Ashley's parents or a teacher about this. They are the ones who have authority and Ashley will listen to them."
Bulimia: I read a Teen magazine article prior to that. It was something about a teen girl who occasionally throws up so she won't get fat. Then she did it daily, and didn't go to sleepovers and overnight trips because she was afraid someone will find out about her problem.
Helping people: I like to help people and solve problems. That's why I like to read advice columns and charity, and celebrities donating to charity.
Jan. 31, 2019: I was thinking about my friend/ old boss A. He's a white guy in his late 30s. I tell him something and he said: "What would you have done?"
After that, I didn't tell anyone about Ashley's habit. I guess I could have told a teacher about it. However, Ashley said she did it 5 times and it wasn't something she does often.
"Staying connected"/ "Benefits with friends"
Feb. 22, 2020 Intervention: The correct term that Angela was doing by telling 4 peers about Ashley's problem was intervention.
Too many variables: At the time, it was the end of gr. 7, and Angela didn't really know the 4 of us that well. It wasn't until gr. 8 that she, Leslie, Heidi, and I started getting closer.
It could have gone badly like:
One of us could have sided with Ashley:
Tracy: Yeah, well throwing up after you eat because you're afraid of getting fat is bad and all, but being fat is worse.
One of us could have told other people about Ashley's problem: How did Angela or anyone know that the 4 of us aren't going to tell other classmates about this?
What influences you the most?: In gr. 12 (2002-2003), I was always on this Edmonton youth website called youthone.com (I just checked and it closed.)
It was from the magazine called Mosaic magazine for teens in Edmonton. Also closed. There is another magazine by that name though.
It was created by Leo Wong:
I always created polls for them:
What influences you the most:
Friends - 46%
Family- 43%
School- 6%
TV- 5%
I remember asking Angela this back then, and she said TV. I don't know if she remembers that.
I said TV of course. I'm always watching TV because I love TV and I wanted to be a TV writer and producer back then. I'm always quoting from TV shows and movies back then to be funny. I still quote from The Simpsons.
Ashley: I don't know what influences her the most, but it seems like Angela went with the friends route with the intervention.
Jun. 8, 2023 Tracy is 100% wrong about Ashley: I predicted Ashley is going to yell at Angela for telling others about her eating problem.
Ashley didn't at all. She said it plainly: "I've only done it like 5 times."
What if Ashley said she doesn't throw up?: I'm practicing my creative writing and screenwriting skills.
Ashley says she doesn't throw up after she thinks she ate too much. They could be yelling, arguing, and swearing at each other.
Ashley: No, I don't. Why are you telling people mean gossip about me? Don't tell Angela anything about your life, because she'll tell everybody else. Don't tell anyone about this. Angela, why are you telling people these lies about me?
Angela: I'm not lying. I'm telling the truth that whenever you think you ate too much, you make yourself throw it up because you're so afraid of getting fat. Stop throwing up after you eat!
Ashley: I don't throw up after I eat.
They may move to talk about this privately:
Ashley: Why did you tell those 4 girls that?
Angela: I wanted to show you that 4 of your peers think that whenever you think you ate too much, you make yourself throw it up because you're so afraid of getting fat is bad. Stop doing that.
Ashley: Yeah, well I don't want you to be blabbing all about my business to everybody. This is not your secret to tell.
Angela: Yeah, well why did you tell them that you don't throw up? And you told them that I was lying? Now you're making me look bad like I'm a liar.
Ashley: You're making me look bad that I throw up. I want to protect my reputation so that's why I said that you're lying.
Angela: So you can damage my reputation and tell people that I'm a liar?
Ashley: Well if you don't want to damage your reputation, then you shouldn't have been telling others about me throwing up.
Angela: I told them that because I'm trying to help you and I care about you.
Ashley: Well then don't tell people about this.
My opinion: They can go back and forth on this. The friendship could have ended because of Angela telling 4 peers this.
Ashley is mad at Angela for telling people about a personal and private problem that she has.
Angela is mad at Ashley for telling people that Angela is lying about her.
The 4 girls would be asking:
Is Angela lying?
Is Ashley lying?
How much of this is true?
If Angela tells Ashley's parents about this, and Ashley says she doesn't:
Angela: I'm telling the truth and I'm telling your parents because I'm trying to help you and I care about you.
The intention: Angela wants to help Ashley and get her to stop throwing up after she eats when she thinks ate too much.
This isn't like a bad intention of:
1. Angela wants to make Ashley look bad for having an eating disorder.
2. Angela wants to make herself look good, like how she's a really good friend by how much she cares about Ashley.
3. Angela wants to make herself look and sound more interesting to others by telling gossip and Ashley's eating disorder.
4. Angela isn't like telling mean gossip like:
A kid's family member is in jail
A kid is in foster care
A girl had an abortion
Jun. 11, 2023 Ashley's teen pregnancy: I was talking to Angela on the phone. This was in either gr. 10 or 11.
Angela: I saw Ashley at the bus stop and she looked very pregnant.
Tracy: Ok.
My opinion: I believe Angela because she's trustworthy. She's not the kind of person to tell mean gossip about people.
It's also one of those cases, that is inconsequential. If I didn't believe Angela, and I put the time and effort in looking for and finding out that Ashley didn't get pregnant as a teenager, it's not a big deal.
What doe it matter about some girl you used to go jr. high school with got pregnant as a teenager?
Ashley is not in my daily life and what she does or doesn't do, doesn't affect me.
What if Tracy finds Ashley and she said she didn't get pregnant as a teenager?
Tracy: Angela said she saw you at the bus stop as a teenager, and you looked very pregnant.
Ashley: I never got pregnant as a teenager. Either Angela is lying or she mistaken me for someone else.
This isn't like a bad intention of:
1. Angela wants to make Ashley look bad for getting pregnant as a teenager.
2. Angela wants to make herself look and sound more interesting to others by telling gossip and Ashley's teen pregnancy.
3. Angela wants to play a prank and lie to Tracy about Ashley, and there's a low chance Tracy is going to find out if it was true or not.
Consistent:
In 2007: I was at Angela's house on New Year's Eve.
Angela: The last time I saw Ashley was at the bus stop, and she looked very pregnant.
In 2011: I called Angela.
Tracy: When you found out Ashley got pregnant as a teenager, were you surprised?
Angela: No.
I forgot what her reasons were.
This was also in 2011. I asked Leslie when we were at City Centre mall.
Tracy: Ashley got pregnant as a teenager, are you surprised?
Leslie: I didn't know Ashley very well, so I can't say I was surprised or not.
Ashley telling Tracy that someone likes her:
This was also in gr. 7. I got on the bus.
Ashley: Somebody likes you.
My opinion: As soon as I heard her, I thought "Don't listen to her."
Leslie (to me): Don't listen to her.
Tracy: I wasn't going to to.
Leslie was 100% wrong about Tracy: She thought I would listen to Ashley.
I thought Ashley's intention was:
1. Ashley wants to get attention.
2. Ashley wants to make herself look and sound more interesting to others by telling gossip.
This isn't like a bad intention of:
1. Ashley wants to play a prank and lie to Tracy about it, and there's a low chance Tracy is going to find out if it was true or not.
Parry talking how she was drunk at a party: She's this East Indian girl I went to high school with. She was talking about it. I believed her. After lunch, Tamara asked me privately:
Tamara: Do you believe her?
Tracy: Yeah.
When Tamara asked me, then I questioned if Parry was telling the truth. If you were so drunk, then how did you remember so much?
It's not a big deal that if Parry lied about some or all of that drinking. What she does or doesn't do doesn't affect me.
Jun. 15, 2023:
I thought Parry's intention was:
1. Parry wants to get attention.
2. Parry wants to make herself look and sound more interesting to others.
Michelle lying about her whereabouts: This was back in gr. 9. Leslie, Heather, Michelle, and I were at Leslie's house after school. Michelle calls home.
Michelle: Hi, you can tell mom that I'm at Dale's house and I'm helping him with his homework.
My opinion: I don't know why she said and did that. Is there something like:
Her parents don't like Leslie and going over to her house?
Or Michelle doesn't want to give the whole info of Leslie's address and info, because it's time consuming?
I thought it was mainly because Michelle was lying for the sake of lying.
Other friend's opinions: I was asking about when you think Michelle was lying about something. We were in high school.
Angela: I was talking to her on the phone and she thought it was inconsistent with Michelle saying she did this and this.
Leslie: She thought she was lying about this small, light, and stupid thing that she did.
Tracy was going to lie about something: This happened some months ago. I see the tea kettle was boiling water, and my grandma was in the washroom. I turned it off and poured some water for my coffee.
Grandma: Did it finish boiling?
I was going to lie and said "Yes." Then I stopped myself: "Why am I lying? Is it because it's easier than explaining what I did?"
Tracy: No, it didn't. I just turned it off.
Grandma didn't yell at me. It's okay if she did. It would be like:
Grandma: Why did you turn off the stove when the water isn't finished boiling?
Tracy: Because nobody was in the kitchen.
This sounds like something that S would yell at me for turning off the stove.
Spontaneous intervention: This sounds like an oxymoron. If you want an intervention to be successful, you need the family, friends, and a professional counselor to talk to the person you're intervening.
Gr. 7 eating disorder intervention: Angela did get 4 girls/ classmates to do this spontaneous intervention on Ashley and her eating disorder.
Gambling/ hoarding problem: I want to protect this person's identity. This man in his 20s and his dad approaches him to talk about how he's gambling.
The man said he did a bit, but has stopped.
Then the dad went on about all these Pokemon and Yugioh cards that he buys and collects. There is a lot of boxes of them and can store the size of a walk- in closet like 6 feet by 9 feet.
The sister overhears and joins in. She's smart with a Bachelor's degree and she reads a lot about psychology. She comes over and becomes like a counselor and giving these strategies and asking "What are your next steps?"
She is also telling about seeing a counselor and a hoarding disorder group.
She is also like a career counselor because this man has a Bachelor's degree, but he's working at a part- time retail job. He isn't working in the field that he studied.
The results: They were good because he did start looking for a job in his field, and he showed the places he applied to. There is accountability.
He attended the hoarding disorder group.
He attended a 1 yr college program, did the practicum at this company, and got hired there.
Jun. 13, 2023 Job scam spontaneous intervention: I thought I got hired at the company Southgate Construction. They gave me a check to deposit. The CSR and bank manager at Scotiabank told me it was a scam.
Here's the Jul. 2017 blog post:
Scream 4/ Southgate Construction scam
https://badcb.blogspot.com/2017/07/scream-4-southgate-construction-scam.html
Spontaneous interventions occur often: When you see or hear something bad or wrong, or someone going to make a mistake, you would intervene by saying something.
Jul. 10, 2023: In conclusion:
Lying is bad.
It's a grey issue because it depends on what you're lying about. Is it hurting someone?
This also depends on what the intention is like to get attention and make yourself look and sound more interesting than you really are.
People are not going to like and trust you.

My week:
Jul. 29, 2023 "‘American Pie’ Star Reveals Tiny Pay Cheque For Starring Role In $200m Hit Comedy": Today I found this article by Caroline Frost on Deadline:
In this new era of actors’ financial transparency, actor Seann William Scott has revealed the paltry amount he was paid to appear in 1999 hit comedy American Pie.
Scott told TV chat show host Rick Elsen that he earned $8,000 for his work on the movie, which went on to make $235million at the box office.
The actor revealed in the interview that it “was a lot of money for me at the time” and revealed he’d splashed out.
“I remember afterwards I bought a used Thunderbird for like $5000 or maybe $6000, I’m like, ‘Oh yeah, baby’,” he said. “I don’t know what happened to the other $2000 because I ended up having to work at the LA Zoo as a churro guy, so maybe it was even less than $8000.”
Scott, who hails from Minnesota, played the role of wild lacrosse player Steve Stifler, aka Stifmeister. Scott continued working with the hit sex teen comedy franchise, going on to earn a reported $5 million for his role in 2012 American Reunion. He recently filmed a DoorDash commercial in character, alongside co-star Jason Biggs.
My opinion: $8000 is low and he had to get a job at the LA Zoo. When you're an actor, you have to work at another job too if you can't get any acting work.
Even if he didn't buy that car, he would still be working at another job.
This is the first movie and not until it proves how successful it is, do you make a sequel. When you compare to $5 million in a movie he made 13 yrs later.

Do you have any Las Vegas souvenirs?: My birthday is Aug. 11. I would like to have some old Las Vegas souvenirs.
I'm sure some of you may have extra things in your home that you don't want or need, and you can give them to me.
It's like how I recently gave an old crib to my friend Leo.
