May 12, 2023 "NBC Fall 2023 Schedule: ‘Night Court’ Moves To Fall In Tuesday Comedy Block, ‘Law & Order: Organized Crime’ & ‘La Brea’ Pushed To Midseason In Strike-Proof Slate": Today I found this article by Peter White on Deadline:
NBC is opening up a new fall comedy block on Tuesday nights and has pushed a couple of its drama series to midseason.
The network unveiled its fall schedule, which sees Jon Cryer’s Extended Family run after Night Court, Quantum Leap moves to Tuesday night, while Found replaces Law & Order: Organized Crime on Dick Wolf’s second night in the fall and La Brea, with its short order season, also pushed to midseason.
There are plenty of strike contingencies built into the schedule, in part as a result of NBC renewing shows early and keeping them in production ahead of the writers walking out.
Jeff Bader, President, Entertainment Program Planning Strategy, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, told Deadline that shows such as Night Court, Quantum Leap, Found, The Irrational and Extended Family will all be on the fall schedule even if there’s an extended strike “because we’re now in a continuous production model”.
“We’re in very good shape, considering the circumstances,” he added.
The network still has a number of decisions to make; it will make decisions on pilots includes comedies Non-Evil Twin and St. Denis Medical and dramas Wolf and the untitled pilot from Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs in the next month. If picked up, these could air later in the 2023/24 season for the 2024/25 season. This will obviously impact decisions on American Auto, Grand Crew and Young Rock as well.
Here is NBC’s fall schedule.
MONDAY
TUESDAY
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
SATURDAY
SUNDAY
“The main thrust for us is that we wanted to capitalize on having a schedule that has tentpoles every night of the week, so we can be as stable as possible, and create a schedule where we have great launchpads for our three new shows that will be coming on in the fall,” said Bader. “We have a new show coming on after The Voice, a new show coming on after Night Court, which was the top new comedy of the season and then after SVU, our top drama. It was just about coming in as stable as possible and creating those launchpads.”
Those new shows include The Irrational, which stars Jesse L. Martin, launching at 10pm on Monday after The Voice, in the slot that Quantum Leap occupied last year.
The Raymond Lee-starring reboot of the classic series is moving to Tuesdays at 10pm for its second season. This is after The Voice at 9pm, which follows its midseason plan, but is an hour later than last fall, where The Voice kicked off the night followed by La Brea and the final season of New Amsterdam.
Night Court is at 8pm on Tuesday followed by Cryer’s Extended Family.
“It’s a little bit of a subtle change. First of all that Monday slot historically has been a place where we’ve launched a lot of hit dramas, going back to The Blacklist and Manifest. On Tuesday, the feeling was that starting off with comedy, it’s a little bit of a lighter night from start to end. Quantum Leap just seems to sit well there and it’s still after The Voice on either night,” Bader added.
No one will be surprised that Wednesday night remains untouched with the One Chicago trio.
However, Wolf’s other night at NBC has been shaken up slightly. Law & Order: Organized Crime moves to midseason and new drama Found moves into Thursday at 10pm after Law & Order and Law & Order: SVU.
This has been in part due to Law & Order: Organized Crime being in the middle of another showrunner change. Sean Jablonski stepped down as showrunner in March with Law & Order: SVU’s David Graziano taking over for the remaining three episodes of the season.
It’s not clear whether Graziano will continue to oversee the Christopher Meloni-fronted series in its fourth season, which will return for a 13-episode run and will replace Found, which stars Shanola Hampton, in midseason.
“It was sort of a win win for us because they’re in the middle of a showrunner change, so they could use the extra time and we loved Found so much that we actually moved it out of the spring this year, because we knew in the fall, we would have the opportunity to give it a guaranteed strong lead and so it just worked out well,” he added.
The Wall moves to Friday night for the second half of its fifth season, which was split into ten episode blocks. It replaces Lopez Vs. Lopez, which was renewed for its second season and will return in midseason, and Young Rock, which is on the bubble.
Midseason will be busy for the network.
In addition to Law & Order: Organized Crime, the big news is the move of La Brea, which previously aired at 9pm on Tuesdays in the fall.
Deadline revealed that sci-fi drama La Brea had been renewed for a short, six-episode run, likely its final season and the series, which stars Natalie Zea and comes from David Appelbaum, has been filming in Australia since March.
It will air at the start of 2024. “Putting together the schedule was a puzzle and it was the perfect puzzle piece to fill that gap that we have between Voice cycles on Tuesdays,” Bader said. “We think it will finish production because it’s all written and it’s being shot so that’s a [post-production] question, but we are assuming that that could be ready.”
The second half of Magnum P.I.’s fifth season will also return in midseason after NBC saved the show.
Elsewhere in midseason are the second season of Password, which Deadline revealed this morning had been pushed due to the writers strike, as well as new reality series including a new twist on Deal or No Deal and another America’s Got Talent spin-off.
Natural history series The Americas, narrated by Tom Hanks, with music from Hans Zimmer, was originally ordered in 2020 by then-NBC boss Paul Telegedy. The ten-part series, which comes from BBC Studios Natural History Unit and Universal Television Alternative Studio, will debut in 2024.
Finally, Canadian hospital drama Transplant will air its third and fourth seasons as part of this schedule.

My opinion: I'm interested in watching Found and The Irrational.
Aug. 18, 2023: This is from my Aug. 2023 blog post: My 2nd prediction came true:
"The CW Sets Acquisition-Heavy 2023-24 Schedule"/ "ABC Fall Schedule Shocker: Entire Scripted Slate MIA as Writers' Strike Imperils New TV Season"
Jul. 30, 2023 My predictions:
1. I predict the writers and actors strike is going to last until 2024.
2. I predict that there are TV shows that are renewed in 2023, will end up getting cancelled before the new season is filmed.
That has happened to the show Stumptown.
Sept. 16, 2020 "‘Stumptown’ Canceled at ABC Despite Season 2 Renewal Due to COVID-19 Pandemic": This article is by Joe Otterson on Variety:
I then found these articles of these TV shows that got cancelled because of the writers and actors strikes:
‘A League of Their Own’ Canceled as Amazon Flips on Abbreviated Final Season
"‘The Peripheral’ Canceled; Prime Video Not Proceeding With Season 2 Amid Lengthy Strikes": Today I found this article by Nellie Andreeva on Deadline:

Aug. 20, 2023 "Emmy-winning 'This Is Us' actor Ron Cephas Jones dies at 66, co-stars react": Today I found this article by Kaitlin Reilly on Yahoo. I love the show This is Us. I didn't recognize him as Congressman Leon Kilbride on Law and Order: Organized Crime:
This Is Us star Ron Cephas Jones has died. He was 66.
The Emmy winner, who took home the Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series award twice for his role on the NBC drama, died due to a “long-standing pulmonary issue,” his representative said in a statement to Yahoo Entertainment.
“Throughout the course of his career, his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness and heart were felt by anyone who had the good fortune of knowing him,” the statement read. “He began his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe and his love for the stage was present throughout his entire career, including his recent Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning performance for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway. Ron’s inner-beauty and soul was evident to the huge audience from his multi-Emmy award winning performance on This is Us.” He is survived by his actress-singer daughter, Jasmine Cephas Jones, best known for her role as Peggy Schuyler in the original Broadway production of Hamilton.
Jones portrayed William on This Is Us, the biological father of Sterling K. Brown’s character Randall. In a heartfelt Instagram post on Saturday, Brown paid tribute to his TV dad, writing in part, “The world is a little less bright. Brother, you are loved. And you will be missed.”
In May 2020, Jones, a lifelong smoker, received a double lung transplant due to his chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, per his 2021 interview with The New York Times. The actor spent two months on and off a ventilator, learning how to eat and breathe again. He initially did not want to go through with the surgery, he said, due to the possibility that he would need an oxygen tank for the rest of his career.
“I was in total denial,” Jones said at the time. “I told myself that it would pass, or that I was just getting older. I was afraid and didn’t want to change what I wasn’t ready to change.”
He called the idea of not being able to perform again “worse than death.”
Mandy Moore shared a photo of her and Jones from the show’s finale, calling him “pure magic as a human and an artist” and saying that working with him was “the greatest gift.”
Chrissy Metz, meanwhile, wrote, “Ron, thank you for brightening every room you walked into. I’ll never forget and have been changed by your kind heart, amazing spirit, immeasurable talent and beautiful smile. May your transition be full of light and peace. ... You are truly the coolest cat.”

Aug. 21, 2023 "Provincial regulator orders Granville College to refund $10K after misleading an international student": Today I found this article by Kiran Singh on CBC. I have read another article on CBC about these "colleges" which are scams and also with another East Indian student:
The official document also states that she would be getting 25 hours of instruction per week.
But Sharma says the daily classes, scheduled for five hours each, only lasted around 15 minutes.
Like another student CBC has reported on previously, Sharma began to question the legitimacy of the program.
"When we had some questions, our instructor said to just 'Google it,'" said Sharma.
Apparently B.C.'s Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) needs to gather information from 'each and every single one' of these students using private institutions, along with the results of this decision, to decide whether those institutions can continue to operate, and what penalties they should have to pay to those that had a similar experience.
It certainly would make the branch busy for a short time, and then after the cleanup there would be few institutions willing to abuse anyone.
There are about few dozens news about international-student scams originating from Punjab. Looks like the problem is with the Canadian high Commission in that region. They need to evaluate documents properly.
My opinion: This article also reminds me of this about exposing people and things for who they are:
"#MeToo movement becomes #WeToo in in victim-blaming Japan"/ "Outrage as women in Japan told not wear glasses in the workplace"
Aug. 17, 2020 Saying: I found this on Facebook:
"You never look good when you are trying to make someone else look bad."- Unknown
Cham: Sometimes people need to be exposed for who they are hahah or maybe I should stop being petty
Tracy Au: There's a difference between trying to make someone look bad, and exposing them for who they are. It's like those #MeToo accusers and victims, they are plainly telling everybody about the perpetrators. They're not trying to make them look bad.

Aug. 23, 2023 "More office workers call in sick on August 24 than any other day": Today I found this article by Mia Gindis on the Financial Post:
Perhaps it’s the inexplicable craving for a day off ahead of the big Labour Day holiday. Perhaps it really is a stomach bug, or that more recent fiend — the coronavirus. And of course, it might just be the blues at the end of summer.
Whatever the reason, Aug. 24 is when American workers most often tell their bosses they simply cannot work that day.
The other day workers typically fail to show up? Feb. 13, usually around the Super Bowl and Valentine’s Day. Tough to guess why.

Aug. 24, 2023 "Corporate ethics czar opens forced-labour probes against Walmart, Hugo Boss, Diesel": Today I found this article on BNN Bloomberg. This is important to stop forced -labour:
Canada's corporate-ethics watchdog is investigating whether Walmart, Hugo Boss and Diesel have forced labour in their supply chains.
Sheri Meyerhoffer, the Ombudsperson for Responsible Enterprise, issued three reports today saying none of the companies have done enough to demonstrate the products they sell in Canada are free of slave labour.
The Canadian subsidiaries of all three companies are accused of relying on suppliers who source materials from Uyghur people forced to work in China’s Xinjiang region.
Walmart, Hugo Boss and Diesel all say they uphold strong antislavery protocols and investigate the source of their products, but Meyerhoffer said none provided enough information about specific allegations.
She says the main challenge is that products from Xinjiang are often processed in other countries, meaning that imports from countries like Vietnam could involve forced Chinese labour if they’re not carefully traced.
All seven of the initial assessments the ombudsperson has announced so far relate to accusations of forced labour involving the Uyghur people, although Beijing insists it has never allowed the practice.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Aug. 24, 2023.
Aug. 21, 2023 "Discover Your Energetic Boundaries with Daniel Shevchuk": I went to this Meetup. It was online Zoom meeting. I met 5 new people. This was spontaneous because work ended early.
I learned that an event happens to you.
You make up a story about it.
I find that stories are excuses and reasons. They can help and serve you.
Details
Come explore your energy field and develop a ‘felt sense’ of how your thoughts and energetic boundaries affect your choices in life.
Some of what you will rediscover is ...
How to sense when you are present
How to sense your energetic boundaries
How to sense and control the amount of energy you allow into your system
How to notice the effect that your thoughts and the thoughts of others have on you
How to notice if what you believe to be true is actually true for you
There will be some instruction, some practice and some time for questions and answers. It will be fun!
Why do we come together?
We come together to be supported in choosing a different way of living. A way that brings clarity in both our bodies and minds.
You will be encouraged and supported to think of and present yourself in a way that you might not be used to. By choosing to try something new (or even being open to it,) you will be creating a new way of being, a new habit.
Note: Since our old habits have not been helpful, we won't be indulging them or reinforcing them.
There will be a little bit of structure:
1 - You will be asked to own your words and speak only from your own experience, using "I" statements
2 - I will ask you if you would be open to a question or a comment ... (you have every right to say yes or no)
3 - If you would like to ask me a question or make a comment, please ask. (Depending on what is happening in the moment, I may say yes or no and I may ask "why" you want to ask the question or make the comment)
Note: the structure is a tool that we can use to learn to be clear about our experience in the moment, so that we can know and clearly express what we have to say and have a better chance of seeing and being seen by others.
What to expect ...
The whole workshop is about focusing on "feeling" our experience instead of "thinking" about it.
I will be sharing some thoughts and examples to help give some context for how I feel we got to be the way we are today.
The activities offered are simple and involve choosing where to put our focus and attention so that we can start "feeling" the messages our bodies are giving us in the moment without any stories or ideas attached.
I won't be sharing anything new to you because you already know all of this ... it is part of your true nature and has always been inside you but for various reasons you have been taught not to trust this part of yourself.
If you are coming to learn some new ideas and techniques, you will be disappointed because what I am sharing is how to let go of all that we "know" about ourselves and life and just start "feeling" our connection to ourselves and life instead.
I realize that feeling this clearly can be challenging and that is why we come together as a group to do this together. I will encourage you to only do what you are comfortable with and to take good care of yourself.
Questions are encouraged as they help focus the evening on what you are interested in and not what I think should be shared.
If the group format doesn't work for you or you would like more focused support, I can work privately with you. Just send me a message through Meetup letting me know what kind of support you are looking for and I will get right back to you.
Please Note: To create a safe container, the workshop will start on time and once the workshop has started, no one else will be admitted.
Also, there is no requirement to stay for the whole 2 hours ... come and stay until you are full!
