Stand with the Global Fund and (RED) on World AIDS Day
Dear Tracy,
Zero.
What does that word make you think of?
Do you think it means nothingness and absence? What if we told you it could mean progress and promise?
Today, the Global Fund and (RED) are joining all partners fighting against HIV and AIDS in support of "Getting to Zero," the World AIDS Day 2011 theme, which will run until 2015.
As you may already have heard from us, we are all working to ensure an HIV-free generation by 2015 and get closer to a world without AIDS. Today is an exciting day, and we want you to join us in commemorating it.
We're proud to be part of the online (2015)QUILT, created by (RED) for World AIDS Day. The Global Fund has already made its own panel -- take a look and then make your own!
This digital "quilt" follows the lead of the original 1987 quilt created by the NAMES Project Foundation, which covered the Mall in Washington DC, memorializing those who had been lost to AIDS.
This new, virtual quilt will be made of graphic images and pledges created by people all over the world who are helping to bring about the beginning of the end of AIDS - and we want you to make your mark on it. Set aside a few seconds to make your own digital panel for the quilt and show that a better world is possible.
There's reason for hope this World AIDS Day. Thirty years after the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, millions of people across the planet are receiving life-saving treatments. More than half the HIV-positive women who need to prevent transmission of the virus to their babies are getting these treatments, and we're on our way to seeing a generation of babies born without HIV in 2015.
But there are still more than 1,000 babies born with the virus every day. So much more needs to be done.
You can get involved this World AIDS Day -- find out all about it here:

Thank you for your support. Together, we can make zero mean something.
Best,
Jon Lidén
