Free or Subsidized Counseling Agencies (Edmonton, AB)/ Anti-Bullying and Suicide Hotlines in the US and Canada

Apr. 17, 2019: Last night I was talking to my friend An about counseling and mental health.

An: When I researched it, the sessions are $100/ hr and it can be a 6 month wait.

I then told her about this, that there are free and subsidized counseling agencies.  I remember typing this up and printing it and give it to a woman who worked at my 2nd restaurant job.  Well I might as well post this on my blog so anyone who needs help can access it:

Suicide Prevention and Support Resources

Suicide is a leading cause of death in the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported that suicide rates increased by 25 percent across the United States since 1999, and that, in half of the states, increased more than 30 percent.
Suicide is a serious public health problem that causes immeasurable pain, suffering, and loss to individuals, families, and communities nationwide. The causes of suicide are complex and determined by multiple combinations of factors, such as mental illness, substance abuse, painful losses, exposure to violence, and social isolation.
