Jul. 9 NAIT: Here are some more Business
Administration courses.
Business Administration –Year 1 with English Language
Training:
Business Analyst Leadership Certificate: This is
about being a manager and project management.
The Business for Journeymen Management Diploma: “provides
experienced journeymen with the management skills they need to start a company
or take on greater responsibilities in their current work environment.”
Business Management Certificate:
Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) Certification
Programs:
“The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) offers the only
payroll certifications in Canada:
the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and the
Certified Payroll Manager (CPM). These programs prepare payroll
practitioners to manage the compliance requirements of an organization's annual
payroll cycle, deliver clear and reliable payroll information, and contribute a
payroll perspective to organizational policy and strategy discussions.”
My opinion: This sounds like a very useful program
because every company needs payroll.
However, I’m not really interested in it.
Captioning and Court Reporting:
“Using electronic shorthand machines and sophisticated
computer technology, students learn to write and translate the spoken word
simultaneously to the printed word at speeds of 225 words per minute and
higher.
Graduates may broadcast caption live television an
internet programming, write court trials and other legal proceedings, or
provide CART services writing realtime in educational, corporate, or
community settings.”
My opinion: This job sounds kind of interesting. I can totally get in.
Captioning and Court Reporting courses:
CGA Pace Partnership Courses:
Certified General Accountants Association of Alberta
(CGA).
Jul. 10 Conflict Resolution & Negotiation

Throughout the six courses of the Conflict Resolution & Negotiation Certificate, you will learn effective tools for engaging in a methodical response to conflict. Conflict Resolution Skills, and Mediation Skills/ Ethics and Values are among the 6 courses. They are all 2 day classes.

My opinion: I know this certificate could be used in the Business workplace, but it has a lot of psychology in it.
Corporate and International Training (CIT) seminars and workshops: There are 2 sessions. It was dated Apr. 2012.

Dental Assisting Technology: This is where you become a dental assistant.
http://www.nait.ca/program_home_76585.htm
Dental Technology: This is where you learn how to make dentures and crowns.
Fluid Power Certificate: I went to Wikipedia and it
says:
“Fluid power is the use of fluids under pressure to
generate, control, and transmit power. Fluid power is subdivided into hydraulics
using a liquid such as mineral oil or water, and pneumatics
using a gas such as air or other gases. Compressed-air and water-pressure
systems were once used to transmit power from a central source to industrial
users over extended geographic areas; fluid power systems today are usually
within a single building or mobile machine.”
Laser Cutter Operator Certificate: This seems to be a
trade.
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt) Certificate:
Participants will gain a practical understanding of the use of the Six Sigma approach within a project management context. For example, they will learn how to identify a problem, convert it to a statistical problem, find a statistical solution and convert it into a practical solution.
Machine- Shop Inspection and Calibration Certificate:
This seems to be working at a manufacturing company.
Master of Business Administration in Community Economic
Development: It covers “economic development, leadership, governance, and
management of change.”
Medical transcription:
“Vital members of the healthcare team, transcriptionists are
medical language specialists who transcribe doctors' dictated reports. The
development of the electronic health record has increased the importance of
ensuring the accuracy of a patient's medical history, as more medical
professionals access and rely on this record.”
My opinion: This program seems kind of
interesting. I can get in it.
