job/ hospitality management/ baking

Sept. 6 Job: August was so busy.  I worked 6 days a week.  27 days on, and 4 days off.  It was constant running around.  Now as soon as Labor Day passes, it’s quiet.

Public job quitting: I want to add to this:

Do you remember The Simpsons episode where they go grocery shopping.  The bag boys get angry.  One says: “Strike, strike, strike, strike!”  All the other bag boys join in chanting that.  Lol.

Sept. 9 NAIT: Did you know that NAIT has a Buddy System?

“The Buddy System provides an opportunity for you to spend a day with current students, attending classes and labs, asking questions and experiencing NAIT first-hand. We invite you to contact the program representative below to arrange your visit during the 2012/13 academic year. Please call well in advance to schedule a convenient date.”  I should go to one of these.

Hospitality Management:

“The focus of this program is the accommodation and food and beverage segments of the hospitality industry. Students gain business and customer service skills in food and beverage service techniques, front desk check-in procedures, financial accounting, economics and written communications.”

“Vital members of the healthcare team, transcriptionists are medical language specialists who transcribe doctors' dictated reports. The development of the electronic health record has increased the importance of ensuring the accuracy of a patient's medical history, as more medical professionals access and rely on this record.”

Me: The median starting salary is $40,000 so that’s good.

Sept. 11 Job fair: I went to a job fair today and dropped off my resume, and did an interview.  I went there as soon as it opened.  A lot of people already arrived.  After 10min of me being there, the interview was over.  I see a lot more people waiting in line.
Get there early if you can.
