Health Care Leadership (2019-2020)
Overview
The Health Care Leadership post-diploma certificate program is offered in a student-centred classroom or an online hybrid environment to prepare graduates for leadership roles within a variety of health-care settings. The program delivers theoretical knowledge and skills assessment related to leadership and management with focuses on: leadership development, cultural sensitivity, communication, organizational behaviour, principles of adult education, business fundamentals, strategic planning, and inter-professional collaboration. Students will acquire advanced leadership skills that will assist them in being recognized as essential contributors to the overall operations of both private and public health organizations.
Admission Requirements
diploma or a degree in a health care field from an accredited institution
English Language Proficiency Requirements
If English is your second language, you must provide proof of English language proficiency (ELP) prior to admission. ELP test results must have been completed within two years prior to the start date of your program.
Acceptable evidence of ELP may be one of the following test scores:
- CELBAN: no score below 10 in listening, 8 in speaking, 8 reading, and 7 writing
- IELTS Academic: no score below 7.5 in listening, 7.0 in speaking, 6.5 in reading, and 7.0 in writing.
- TOEFL iBT: overall score of 94
- NorQuest coursework: minimum of 50% in English for Academic Purposes – Reading and Writing I (ESLG1860) and English for Academic Purposes – Listening and Speaking I (ESLG1861)
Progression
Students must attain a pass grade in each course to progress through the program. To qualify for graduation, students must pass all courses.

Environmental Protection Technology (2019-2020)
Overview
Environmental protection technologists provide an important service to society by helping protect and sustain the long-term health of our ecosystems. This two-year diploma program will prepare students for technical work in the environmental sector. Students will gain the practical knowledge and skills needed to offer professional advice on a wide range of subjects, including: environmental impact assessment; hazardous and non-hazardous waste management; waste reduction and reuse strategies; air, soil, and water pollution prevention and monitoring; compliance auditing; and contaminated site investigation and remediation.
This skill set is based on an integrated, hands-on training program that gives graduates a good working knowledge of physical and life sciences, including general biology, ecology, toxicology, chemistry, physics, and statistics.
The program will be offered on campus and will include hands-on training in both laboratory and field settings. Students will also have the option of participating in a co-operative work term. Following completion of the program, students will receive a diploma in Environmental Protection Technology and be eligible for designation as a certified technologist or technician.

- 65% in English Language Arts 30-1 or completion of English for Academic Purposes -Reading and Writing EAP II (ESLG1898) and English for Academic Purposes – Listening and Speaking EAP II (ESLG1899) with a minimum of 65%, or equivalent
- 65% in Math 30-1, or equivalent
- 65% in Chemistry 30, or equivalent
- 65% in Biology 30, or equivalent
* If it has been 10 or more years since you completed Math 30-1, you will be required to complete a skills assessment, take a challenge exam, or complete upgrading to meet the mathematics requirement.
