Take action for Syrian refugees at risk

Take action for
Syrian refugees at risk

Dear Tracy,

She supports her family alone, living in a tent on $0.72 a day.

Her residence permit expired—it costs $200 to renew.

She is harassed, and men offer "help"—in exchange for sex.

She is a refugee from Syria, fighting to survive in Lebanon after bravely relocating her family away from their now war-torn home.

Take action to urge more resettlement and other pathways for the most vulnerable Syrian refugees to enter the United States.

This is the kind of situation many Syrian refugee women like Fatima* face in Lebanon. When Amnesty sent research teams to Lebanon to learn more about the safety issues, Fatima* told our researcher this:
The situation in Lebanon is very difficult and I don't feel protected here... I feel exploited in Lebanon, mainly by men. If I hear of good people who can help me, I will go. But I discover they are not good people, that they want something in exchange. They will start complimenting me and then I understand that they want something else.
We must take action to ensure that the international community works together to provide safe environments for women like Fatima*.

Act now to tell the U.S. government: help create more avenues for Syrian refugees to make it to safety.

There are still hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees who are being classified by the UN as "vulnerable," including women and girls at risk. The international community has failed to provide adequate avenues of relief for these refugees.

Join with me today in making sure the U.S. government hears loud and clear that it's time to support more options for refugees to gain entrance to the United States.

In solidarity,
