MacEwan University programs review (G to P)

Jun. 19 MacEwan University:

General Studies: It says:

“We encourage you to seek admission to a degree or university-transfer program but if you do not meet the admission requirements of degree or university transfer programs, the General Studies program may be the right option for you. You may access a small range of university credit courses to apply towards your future program.”

The courses are like anthropology, psychology and play analysis.

Hearing aid practitioners: I looked it up and it doesn’t sound very interesting.

Holistic health practitioners: I already wrote about this before where you learn about reiki and herbology.

Human Resources Management: This sounds kind of interesting.

“Where the pressure to find and retain talented employees requires skilled professionals who can implement forward-thinking practices in the areas of employee compensation, staffing, training and development, and employee relations.”

The careers are like corporate trainer.  However, there’s Financial Math and Financial Accounting 1.

Insurance and Risk Management: It has similar courses to the Human Resources Management like Financial Math and Organizational Behavior.

Jun. 20 Legal assistant: One of my friends went into this program and quit.  She then went and got her education at CDI College.  I’m not really interested in the classes like Estate Procedures, Family Law Procedures

Library and Information Technology:

“Contrary to what you might think, public libraries are more popular than ever. Through an expansion of services to include free internet access, audio files, movies and eBooks, public libraries are moving into the future with something for everyone.

You can be a part of this future, assisting users, providing programming and planning for decades to come.
But library science is definitely not limited to your public library. This world is becoming increasingly enveloped in masses of information. Businesses' success can depend on their ability to disseminate information in a logical and timely manner. Library technicians provide this service, working across industries, government, museums, major corporations and more.

Library technicians work in any environment that deals with information management. Some options to consider are:
  •  Library and information technician
  •  File and records clerk
  •  Reference assistant and technician
  •  Bookstore service personnel
  •  Consultant”

The file and records clerk jobs, you can get an education at Norquest College for 4 months certificate:

Life Support Training: This is really CPR.

Massage Therapy: One of my friends went to CDI College to become a massage therapist and she graduated.

Music: I don’t play musical instruments and I’m not that interested in music to major in it.

Nurse Credentialling: You have to be a nurse and this is a refresher course.

Occupational Health Nurses: This is medicine so I’m not interested.

Office Assistant: I looked into it and am interested.

Open Studies: Study whatever you want and not get a specific certificate or diploma.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN):

Registered Nurse (RN):

Police and Investigation- Investigative Studies: I wrote about being a police officer before, and this job isn’t really for me.
