Please join The First Nations Child and Family Caring Society and its supporters across Canada for Have a Heart Day. Send an ecard or message to your MP this Valentine's Day showing how much you care about the rights and well-being of First Nation children.
It's free. And it's a simple but effective way to let our political representatives know that Canadians want First Nation children to enjoy the same rights to schooling, health and welfare as other children in Canada. By reminding decision makers of their responsibility to uphold the human rights of all children in Canada, you will be part of a solution to a longstanding human rights issue in Canada.
How to participate:
- Send an eValentine to your Member of Parliament (find your MP) on February 14,
- Write a letter to your MP or the Prime Minister to arrive by Valentine's Day, or
- Prepare Valentine's Day cards with your school, friends or your children
Our message to MPs: "Please ensure First Nations children have the same chance to grow up safely at home, get a good education, be healthy, and proud of their cultures." |
Sincerely
Alex Neve
Secretary General, Amnesty International Canada
P.S.: Of course, we also encourage you to spread the word through social media (visit Amnesty Canada on facebook), and to let us know how you have chosen to participate by sending us a short note - and any photos of your Valentine's Day messages - to writeathon@amnesty.ca. Thanks for taking this simple action with us!
