Dear Tracy,

Boko Haram has kidnapped dozens more women and girls from two villages in northern Nigeria.

Boko Haram attacked the villages and rounded up women and girls who were teenagers or in their early 20's.

Amnesty is campaigning for their release by pressuring Nigerian authorities to use all lawful means to rescue them and bring those responsible for the kidnappings to justice.

We are also demanding improved protection for all civilians in Nigeria, including children going to school in the region. Please help by making a donation to fund our efforts championing the rights of women and girls.

Boko Haram is still holding most of the over 200 schoolgirls they kidnapped last spring, along with many other people in an attempt to control northeast Nigeria. Further, thousands more have been killed by both the armed group and Nigerian security forces with impunity.

Please support Amnesty's efforts to make sure kidnapped individuals are released and that those responsible for kidnappings and killings are held accountable.

Recently news reports suggested that a deal to release the kidnapped girls was close to being finalized. This deal has not been realized.

Please help us make sure that the Chibok schoolgirls are not written off by the Nigerian government and that the government meets its obligations to protect the rights of all people living in Nigeria.

We'll keep you updated on the latest developments as they unfold.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Adotei Akwei
