You are helping us get at the root causes of violence against aboriginal women

Thank you for signing our Stolen Sisters petition urging Canada to implement a National Action Plan on missing and murdered Aboriginal women!

This weekend, we mark the 10th anniversary of our Stolen Sisters report, a ground breaking report that documented the widespread violence facing Indigenous women and girls and showed why we all have a responsibility to help end that violence.

Over the last decade, dozens more First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and girls have been murdered or have disappeared every year.

Please help us turn this anniversary into a call to action:

1. FOLLOW AND SHARE OUR STORIES AND INTERVIEWS

In the days leading up to October 4th,
Amnesty is featuring a series of stories of activist who have worked to end violence against women, along with press releases and public statements. I invite you to follow this series on our website or on our Facebook page.

2. ATTEND A VIGIL

Last year over 200 vigils were held across the country on October 4th to commemorate the lives of murdered and missing Aboriginal Women. Look for a vigil near you on the website of the Native Women's Assocation of Canada.  Amnesty will join the Native Women's Association of Canada on Parliament Hill at noon. Members in the Capital Region are invited to join. For more information c
