Role Reversal and Reversal of Situations in dramas:
The usual roles and situation is the man is the predator and bad guy.
The teen girl is the prey and good guy.
In these cases, the teen girl is also the predator and bad guy.

Cut to a bus station at night.
Cut to a Man in his 30s and smoking a cigarette. Faith is in her late teens.

He walks with her.
Man: This is a dangerous part of town this time of night for a young lady, you know. A lot of people are trying to take advantage of a situation like that. Especially if you don't have any money, a place to stay, I might be able to help.
Faith: I'm cold.
Man: Oh yeah, warm is my middle name.
He takes off his jacket and she beats him up.
She gets his wallet and keys.
Faith: Now I got money, and a place to stay.
She puts on his jacket.
Faith: I think I'm going to like it here.

2000:
14 yr old Tracy: That's how old I was when I first saw this. I know Faith is a bad guy. When I was watching this, I thought the Man was a bad guy and I predicted Faith is going to beat him up.
I was 50% right that he was a bad guy.
2007:
22 yr old Tracy: I bought the Angel season 1 DVDs at a discount. When I re-watched this, I thought:
"He is not just a bad guy. He is a pimp. Why would a man like that be at a bus station at night and going to a teen girl?"
I wrote about this scene before in 2007 before my blog. I had read a magazine article about a young woman's similar experience at a bus station, until a woman in a volunteer organization came over.
As for the last Youtube comment: when I saw this at 14, 22, and now at 38 yrs old, I don't have any sympathy for the man who got beaten up.
He didn't do anything to her yet. He was a pimp and he was going to get her to be a prostitute.
Gaps of knowledge: There is a gap. 14 yr old Tracy was 50% right that he was a bad guy.
Ignorance or stupidity?: Ignorance. 14 yr old Tracy didn't know he was a pimp.
Does this scare you how dumb people are?: Some of you may be worried about Tracy not knowing that he was a pimp.

This is a really well-written and acted movie. However, it's basically a teen girl who ties up this predator to a chair, and beats him up and tortures him.
You will like this movie if you like:
Pros:
1. The actors Elliot Page (back then Ellen Page) as Hayley.
Patrick Wilson as Jeff.
Sandra Oh is the neighbor and only in 3 scenes.
2. You want to watch a teen girl beat up a predator.
3. You like watching Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
4. You like watching Dateline: To Catch a Predator.
5. You like torture porn like the Saw movies.
6. You like to read the news about catching predators.
You may not like this movie because:
Cons:
1. It's too dark and violent.
2. It can be very hard to watch.
3. The 2 main characters are unlikeable and you will get angry and in a bad mood.
2006: I showed this movie to my friend Angela (a 20 yr old white woman) when she was at my house.
I bought the used DVD on Amazon.
Angela: She's (Hayley) a b----.
Tracy: Yeah, but I mean that in a good way because you don't want to f--- with her.
2011: I called Angela and asked about it.
Tracy: Would you want to watch this movie again?
Angela: I would if I was showing this movie to someone who hasn't seen it. This is too dark.

Wed. Oct. 28, 2026 First snowfall: This is the first snowfall so my bus was 30 min. late. I talked to this Asian woman Melissa who was waiting too.
She shows me on her smartphone that it was then updated on Google Maps to 30 min. delay.
Melissa: The bus is probably going to be really crowded.
Yeah, we had to get on the back of the bus.
